ABOUT HILLEL COMMUNITY DAY SCHOOL
Faculty & Staff
The Faculty & Staff at Hillel Community Day School are comprised of a wide-range of Judaic teachers, General Studies teachers and other professionals. They each bring a vast amount of knowledge in their speciality areas to the school.
At Hillel Community Day School, academic excellence, individual achievement, and the warmth of a community converge to create a dynamic learning experience for your child.
Hillel is an egalitarian, private and pluralistic Jewish day school, offering a full-day program, 8:00 am-3:30 pm, for all students from Kindergarten through Eighth grade.
After school care is also offered Monday-Thursday until 6:00 pm and Friday as late as candle lighting times permit.
Throughout the day, General Studies, Judaic Studies, and Enrichment Classes are integrated. Students thrive with our dual curriculum and we provide a comfortable, exciting, and stimulating learning atmosphere.
Our nine-acre campus is located in the suburb of Brighton, just outside Rochester, NY. The Town of Brighton offers kosher food options, family activities, and a spectrum of synagogues to choose from, ranging from Orthodox to Conservative and Reform. Brighton is recognized as one of America’s most striking and sustainable residential towns and is home to notable leaders in business, industry, medicine, education, government, and the arts.
Hillel's campus features a renovated 1,000+ SF Wolk Kindergarten Wing, a spacious gymnasium/auditorium, a student-planted learning garden, a state-of-the-art STEAM lab, a stimulating art studio, and a modern science & ecology lab. The library and media center contains a Triumph Interactive Suite, a full-scale broadcast studio, as well as Judaic and general interest volumes and texts.
We strive to provide all students with the best possible education. Our favorable 6:1 average student-to-teacher ratio enables teachers to know all their students and provide differentiated instruction for each and every enrolled child. An Instructional Leadership Team and Pupil Personnel Service Coordinator tailor enrichment and remediation programs to meet the needs of each and every child in our school.
