Laurie Weidert –Special Education

Hi! My name is Laurie Weidert.  I am very excited to be returning to Hillel this coming school year.  It will be my third year working at this amazing school.  It will be my 20th year teaching.  I am a special education teacher from Brighton, and I have the opportunity to work with all grades, K-8. I primarily work with students who have Individualized Education Plans, but I am often in classrooms during instruction where I get to work with all students and teachers. I graduated from Niagara University with a Bachelor’s degree in PreK, K-6 Elementary Education and Special Education K-12.  I received my Master’s Degree from Roberts Wesleyan in Literacy Education.  When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three kids.  We love to travel, play sports, horseback ride, and read.  I love animals and have two cats, a bearded dragon, an axolotl, and many fish.  My favorite part about being a teacher is developing engaging lessons with the interest of each student in mind and celebrating their successes!  I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year.
