Scott Hoornbeck

Dean of Faculty & Students

Scott Hoornbeck is returning for his 11th school year at Hillel Community Day School.  Scott started his career at Hillel during the 2012-13 school year as a lower school teacher.  During 2016, Scott transitioned into his current role as Dean of Faculty and Students, a role where he overseas teachers, curriculum, and ensures that the teachers and students are in the best position to succeed.  Over the past six school years Scott has helped the school modernize report cards, build back up the middle school, and find and retain exceptional faculty from all over the world.

Scott originally is from Ithaca, NY.  After high school, he received his undergraduate degree from Fredonia, his Masters in Education and Special Education from Roberts Wesleyan College, and his School Building and School District Leadership certificates from the Warner School at the University of Rochester.

Scott lives in the town of Gates with his wife Lisa, his kindergarten daughter Presley (who is just loving Hillel), and his dog Charley.  When he is not at Hillel or at home, he is in Buffalo cheering on the Bills at Highmark Stadium.

Scott has loved seeing Hillel grow and flourish over the past decade and enjoys hearing the sounds of learning everyday in the hallways of Hillel.
