William Yager (Mr. Yager)
Art Teacher
Hi! My name is Bill Yager, and I direct the visual arts program here at Hillel School. I love to share my joy of making art, and it is a pleasure to collaborate with our fabulous Hillel family! I have been an art educator for many years teaching all levels, and I am a practicing artist. I have a Master of Fine Arts from the University at Buffalo and my Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Brockport. I have had the opportunity to study with phenomenal artists, including Wendel Castle, Robert Marks, and Seymour Drumlevitch, among others.
I am a stone carver by trade and have created many public monuments, such as the Vietnam Memorial at Highland Park, the Peace Project for the Dalai Lama, the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Pittsford, and the new Holocaust Memorial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, to name a few. Prior to coming to Hillel School, I was in charge of all of the restoration and repair of monuments at Mt. Hope Cemetery, where I restored over 2,000 monuments. I worked on projects across the globe, including London and Zurich. My favorite teaching position is here at Hillel School. I love the children and everyone here at Hillel.
